Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou in Beaumont Puy De Domme in France, was born on the 9th of August 1976. Audrey was the eldest child in a family of four. The actress was inspired by her parents, a dentist, and a teacher and both of them were teachers. They encouraged her to pursue her interest in acting. This was in contrast with her previous desire to be a primatologist due to the fact that she loved monkeys. Her rise to fame as a young actress was swift and marked by early success. In 1998 after her studies, she participated in a French television show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers which was sponsored by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to launching her acting career in earnest. Tautou studied at Institut Catholique de Paris, went to church as a young girl and was brought up Catholic. But she has now distanced herself with this background. Neben her acting, Tautou has also been a model and the model of L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. She is a keen photographer and has recently exhibited in The Arles International Festival entitled Superficial. Her photography is focused on famous people, the media and media that scrutinised her after her fame-making debut as Amelie. Also, she has numerous photographs of herself. Audrey Tautou rose to fame and acclaim with her big performance in Le Fabuleux d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie made international waves at the box office and was awarded awards across the world. It remains the highest grossing French language film in the US. Following this success Tautou starred in a wide range of films from British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Long Sunday of fiancailles. She then moved to Hollywood through Ron Howard's direction of the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
